Coronavirus

Home daycare providers don’t work a typical eight hour day. Some are opened for ten plus hours a day. In addition to the hours they are teaching your children and keeping them safe they grocery shop, meal prep, prep for activities and events, clean and sanitize. Our days are LONG. There are some days I don’t even eat lunch and take a moment to myself because of how busy our days can be, I know I’m not alone.

As everyone is aware, we are currently living through a pandemic. A lot of home Daycare’s have had to close or had many of their children pulled from their care which is absolutely understandable given the circumstances. Unfortunately for providers unlike other small businesses they do not qualify for the financial assistance that’s advertised. Which has caused a lot of headaches and heartbreaks.

Many providers rely on their facility as their main source of income and many are having to close their doors permanently.

If you have a friend that is a provider, have had your children placed in care or they are currently enrolled, reach out and let them know how much you appreciate them. I promise it would mean the world.

Thankful.

WOW. I did not expect for this much time to pass after my last post but LIFE. It has been crazy here in our household over the last month and a half. We adopted a puppy- A PUPPY. yea, still can’t believe we did that. My daughter then had medical emergencies that have led to her being home schooled and BOTH my kids began soccer which means multiple practices and games a week. CRAZY busy, however, it has settled down and everyone is happy and healthy. I took a moment to just breathe all by myself last night and thanked Jesus for helping me through these moments of chaos. I am SO THANKFUL to have the opportunity to be home with my children when needed and also help them learn and grow. That is why I became a provider to be present with my family. Although being a provider is not my forever career, I am beyond blessed to have this opportunity to be present while my littles are, well, still little. I highly recommend for any new moms, that are great with children and can love and treat them like your own to look into becoming a provider. Your littles will have forever friends and your family will grow larger and larger. XOXO

Hey its me!

Hey ya’ll, let me introduce myself to you- I’m Mrs. Merissa, A home daycare provider in a small town located in Central California. I’ve been wanting to start a blog for many reasons mostly to show people how rewarding being a provider can be. I began working with children at age 17 shortly after graduating high school as a TA for autistic children. Flash forward… relocating, a Bachelors degree, a wedding and my second child born I realized my calling wasn’t to be working under someone else. I NEEDED to be home. Be my own boss. and MOST importantly be present with my family. BEST CHOICE EVERRRRRRR. Want to know why? K Cool, keep following- subscribe and learn all about what we do here at Little Bloom Daycare! XOXO
